The Experience Design Team at Life Time Fitness has been reinventing itself recently, moving from being mainly digital focused, to now improving member and team member experiences with a comprehensive approach that includes process improvements, team member training, program design, and technology.
In this presentation, we will be discussing:
- How we have evolved from a User Experience to Experience Design team
- Research tools for small, medium, and large projects
- Project/Business negotiation techniques
- Building/maintaining pattern libraries and creating governance for consistency
- User experience in service design and non-traditional spaces

Michael Gonsalves is the Director of the Experience Design and Innovation team at Life Time Fitness. He has more than a decade of experience in eCommerce and retail, specializing in user experience and product management. Michael joined Life Time in June of 2014 and has been working hard to change internal and external experiences for members and team members.
Bridget Feickert is a Senior Experience Designer at Life Time Fitness. She is a great collaborator, fearless questioner, and a tireless advocate for Life Time’s members, team members, prospect members. Bridget has been at Life Time since April 2013.
Michael Ruetten is a Senior Business Analyst at Life Time Fitness. Over the last 20+ years, he has been crafting comprehensive solutions to ambiguous business charters. He is energized by continuous improvement and change management opportunities. Michael joined Life Time in December of 2015.
